I haven't had much to say about my pregnancy, and I started wondering why. When we were pregnant with Wyatt, everything was so unsure or we felt we needed to keep things a secret so that it would stay special just for us. We were never sure if I would miscarriage. And we never knew if we told someone the names we were thinking of if that person would go blabbing it to everyone they met. So we just didn't say anything. My family didn't know for sure we'd be choosing the name Wyatt until we were at the hospital. Its not nice, but I blame Byron for the secrets more than me. It never bothered me to share thoughts with people (Hello! I have 4 blogs!), but Byron knew that certain people would never respect the sacred nature of a husband and wife being able to make choices such as the name of their child by themselves. He's not big on hearing other people's unsolicited opinions, and I have grown to be the same way.
So I guess that's why I haven't been saying much about this pregnancy. If I told you I thought I was having contractions right before my first trimester, would you share nightmare stories that you heard from your sister's neighbor's 2nd cousin three states away and then be insistent that I stay in the hospital for 7 months? Or if I discussed with you that I didn't think I was going to be on bed rest this time because this pregnancy just "felt" different, would you tell me that I was wrong and that I was lying to myself to make myself feel better? Of if I told you what names we were thinking of, would you go tell your three other pregnant friends because they needed name ideas? Those are the reasons why I stay quiet.
I hope I'll loosen up. But in the meantime, mums the word.

If there was a way to "like" this post, I would.
I agree. We didn't really tell names or anything because we have a lot of opinionated people in our family. And when I say our I mostly mean Ezra's. I had the name picked out but just kept pretending to his family we weren't sure...I am so glad we did. Then I was able to share the story of why we picked it instead of trying to defend it before. Good for you...somethings don't need to be shared. Although kids share everything...so be careful what Wyatt knows...haha.
