It is kind of a kick to explain to people the scientific miracle that we have to go through to have a child. Here's some things you might find interesting.
- We started out with about 30 follicles, then going to 16 eggs, and then that number going down to 6 actual embryos. Dr. Shapiro puts in 2 at a time. The first time I miscarried, then 2nd time we got Wyatt. Now we have 2 embyros left.
- These 2 embryos are technically Wyatt's twin because they were created at the same time he was. They've just been left on ice longer!
- We just learned that invitro babies tend to be more intelligent, and though they don't know for certain, doctors think it is because of the selection of the eggs. They choose the heartiest, best ones for better survival. And I thought it was because of me.
- By the end of this process, I will have had more than 4 ultrasounds, 7 blood tests, and at least 30 injections! This does not count anything past becoming pregnant!
