Too Tired to Choose Joy

I'm feeling really low today, not sure why. I don't know if it is the medicine that I'm taking, or post-holiday depression. Maybe it is this week's hectic schedule full of doctor appointments, or my inadequate feelings in the other roles of life I have to play (mother, wife, church, etc.). I'm just tired, and feeling really unsure of myself. The "only child" comes out of me big time when I feel this way. I get cranky and I just want to crawl into bed and be alone. I don't want to answer the phone, I don't want to think about what's for dinner. My house is a mess and my other responsibilities are lacking. My poor husband is being ignored and Wyatt has been taking care of me, making sure I eat ("You gonna eat now with us, Mommy?), etc., instead of the other way around.

There's a woman by the name of Kollette Hall. She is a designer for numerous scrapbook companies, among other businesses. She married a quadriplegic, Jason Hall, and together they work together sharing their message of choosing joy in their life and overcome obstacles. Kollett is currently pregnant with their son, through invitro-fertilization. I looked at her blog today and wondered, "This woman's whole motto in life is 'Choosing joy.' With all of her trials, does she have days like I'm having today? Why can't I just 'choose joy?' I'm just too tired to 'choose joy' right now."

So with that said, I may take some moments for myself tonight, a hot bath and some Tylenol PM and wish this day to go away. I hope I have the energy to choose a little joy tomorrow.
